John Terzakis was born in Chicago, IL and lived most of his life on the South Side near the South Shore along Lake Shore Drive. His father, Danny Boy Terzakis, founded Danny Boy Oil Company in 1948 with a dream and about $25 in his pocket. Johnny Terzakis began working as an attendant at one of his family's gasoline stations at the age of 14. He soon became manager and then owner of two of his own gas stations, which were supplied by his father's oil company. Running the family business from 1977 to present, John has taken the assets built through the years by his father and his brother's lead in the family business and refocused the company to meet the slowing gasoline sales and the increase in real estate needs along Chicago's premier neighborhoods.
As the founder and CEO of Single Site Solutions, John has expanded upon what his father had built in the early part of the 20th century. When John took over the business in 1977 he immediately evaluated the company assets which consisted of over 200 retail gasoline locations, deciding to tap into the real estate wealth his father's company had accumulated over the years John began selling and rebuilding the company assets to fit a changing real estate market. Through the years, John diversified by having the company begin selling to wholesale accounts and by developing real estate projects. It was from the family business that the real estate / development division began.
Mr. Terzakis has built on his 30 years experience in real estate development, and created Single Site Solutions Corp. in 2001 with the idea of creating a dynamic, multifaceted real estate development and investment firm. John and Single Site Solutions Corp. have developed over 1.5 million square feet of retail, residential, industrial, and office projects. Single Site Solution’s diverse development portfolio includes a 350,000 square foot national grocer anchored transit linked shopping center, 17 in-line shopping centers, over 50 single-tenant build to suits, three medical office buildings, over 350,000 square feet of industrial space, and over 57 units of attached residential housing. As CEO of Single Site Solutions, Mr. Terzakis is responsible for the daily activities in the financial, real estate and development divisions of the company as well as developing and expanding relationships and partnerships across the diverse mix of industries the firm develops with. John's strategic planning and daily involvement in the company ensures it’s continued success. Single Site Solutions Corp. has developed and worked with national tenants within different industries ranging from food, banking and retail and have purchased and developed properties varying in sizes from 1 acre to 60 plus. With past and current projects located in Lincoln Park, West Loop, Near North, Downtown, and other high profile areas of Chicago John is experienced in finding the perfect location to maximize income. Expanding on his vast knowledge of developing real estate, Single Site Solutions has interests in Philadelphia, California, Florida and many other states.
Mr. Terzakis currently resides in Illinois and is a the front man for the firm which develops premier commercial and mixed use property. While the real estate market seems to be slowing to a halt, Single Site Solutions has currently more than thirty projects slated for development or currently being built. His wisdom helps the local markets by keeping the workforce busy and helping retail outlets expand in an otherwise dark time.
